Guardolina, who is reportedly named as a candidate for the Qatar national team, arrived at Israel on Saturday as he was invited to a concert of singer Achinoam Nini in Jerusalem as a part of the Israel Festival. He will stay there for four days days.
Barcelona Football fans from Arab countries were disappointed by Guardiola's trip, considering him taking the Zionists’ side against the Palestinians, and their anger appeared in their comments on the Internet, with some sports sites giving the story top billing, combing news of the tactician's visit with the “upset” Arab reaction.
“His visit to Israel, who kill the Palestinian people, is a formal support and encouragement of it,” Al-Khaldy from Saudi Arabia wrote.
“It’s shameful for any Arab to support such a team,” Mahmoud Sayed from Egypt commented.
Contrarily, some did not consider Guardiola's visit to Israel a humiliation or betrayal of Arabs.
“I don’t know why you are upset. He is neither Arab nor Muslim,” Haya from Qatar said.
