Amr Warda is going to start as a lone striker in what could be a surprise by Egypt manager Cuper, with the right-footed Ahmed Fathi deployed as a left-back in the absence of the injured Mohamed Abdel-Shafi.
"Cuper's defensive strategy could be considered 'old school', but it clicked well with all the players in the squad," Hull City winger Ahmed Elmohamady said.
With targetmen Marwan Mohsen and Ahmed Hassan Kouka both injured and forward Mahmoud 'Kahraba' suspended, AS Roma star winger Mohamed Salah is likely to be fielded upfront as Cuper does not have options.
It remains to be seen whether Cuper would elect to start with Ramadan Sobhi on the right, with the Argentinean manager usually prefering the Stoke City winger as a substitute.
Should Fathi move to the left, Hull City wing-back Ahmed Elmohamady would most probably fill in the right back slot after excelling in the role in the quarter-final win over Morocco.
Should Ahly Jeddah left-back Mohamed Abdel-Shafi continue to miss out, right-footed Ahmed Fathi is likely to deputize on the left.
The Egypt management will be delighted to welcome back Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny, who has missed out on the wins over Morocco and Burkina Faso due to a calf injury.
The Pharaohs will bid for a record-extending eighth Nations Cup title when they meet four-time winners Cameroon in Libreville Sunday evening.
"Egypt will not be very different to what we have seen so far, whether people like that or not, whether that means we will be attacking or not," Egypt national team coach Hector Cuper said on Saturday.
"We will wait until the last moment to see how the players are feeling. They are very tired, but a final is different to other games and there are a huge number of factors in play," added Cuper.
Egypt defender Ahmed Hegazy is cleared for Sunday's showdown against Cameroon in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations final after recovering from a hamstring muscle problem during training on Saturday, the team's doctor Mohamed Abou El-Ela said.

Hundreds of Egyptians flew to Gabon Sunday to support their national team in the final match of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations against Cameroon.
"Around 1,100 spectators including Egypt Sports Minister Khaled Abdel-Aziz are expected to arrive in Gabon this afternoon ahead of the anticipated game," Egypt's ambassador in Gabon Ahmed Bakr told a television program Sunday morning.
It will be the third meeting of the countries in the final -- Egypt won on penalties in Cairo in 1986 and triumphed 1-0 in Accra in 2008.
Sunday's match between Egypt and Cameroon at the 40,000-seat Stade de l'Amitie in Gabon's capital Libreville kicks off at 21:00 CLT and will be preceded by a closing ceremony, which begins around an hour and a half earlier.
Since last beating Egypt in the 2002 Cup of Nations quarter-finals, Cameroon have failed to prevail in six competitive meetings between the African powerhouses. A goalless group draw in the 2004 Nations Cup, a result that meant Egypt waved goodbye to the tournament, was followed by four victories for the Pharaohs and a single draw that eventually denied Cameroon a place in the 2006 World Cup finals.
Seven-time African champions Egypt hope recent history would continue to take their side when they take on four-time winners Cameroon in the Nations Cup final at Stade d'Angondjé in Libreville on Sunday.
Stay tuned as match is due to start at 21:00 Cairo time (GMT+2)
