EgyptAir cancelled a flight Saturday heading to Iraq’s Irbil, citing deteriorating security conditions in the country, a source in EgyptAir told Ahram Online.
The decision comes in the wake of US President Barack Obama ordering air strikes in Iraq.
For the past two months, Islamic State (IS) militants have made significant gains on the ground. Most recently, IS militants seized a major dam in Iraq and forced a mass exodus of religious minorities.
