Barcelona's forward Munir Haddadi said that he has not ruled out the possibility of playing for the Moroccan national team.
The 19-year-old, who was born in Spain to a Moroccan father, is one of the hottest prospects in Spanish football as he shined with Barcelona during pre-season preparations.
The talented forward produced a strong performance with Barcelona in a 3-0 win over Elche in their La Liga opener on Sunday, scoring the second goal for his side.
When asked about playing for Morocco, the Barcelona star – who has previously represented Spain on youth teams – said it was still a possibility, confirming that he would seriously consider the matter.
Haddadi is still permitted to choose his national team as he has never made a senior appearance for Spain.
"Playing for Morocco? It is possible," Haddadi told BeIN Sports after Barcelona's win.
"I don't know a lot of things about the Moroccan team, but I know that they are a strong team which includes several good players," he added.
Morocco who will host the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations are looking to strengthen their squad in order to win their first title since 1976.
