Egyptian midfielder Mahmoud 'Kahraba' Abdel-Moneim scored his second goal for Swiss side Grasshopper but could not prevent them from losing 3-2 to Thun in an exciting league match on Saturday.

Thun led 3-0 with three first-half goals before Kahraba narrowed the gap with nine minutes remaining, sticking out his foot to divert a mis-hit shot from close range.

Michael Lang netted the second for Grasshoppers in stoppage time but it was too little, too late as Thun held on for a narrow victory.

Kahraba, who joined in the summer following a brief stint with fellow Swiss side Luzern, opened his Grasshoppers account in their 2-1 win over Aarau in August.

The 20-year-old was left out of Egypt's squad for the upcoming double-header against Botswana in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Abdel-Moneim's nickname 'Kahraba' can be translated to 'Electricity,' an expression of his usual lively performances.
