American superstar Katy Perry has reportedly called off her trip to Egypt due to security concerns, according to Hollywood Reporter.
Perry was due to celebrate her 30th birthday with a cruise along the Nile, but news about a change in plan appeared on several news websites yesterday.
Information about the cancellation could not be verified through Perry's social media accounts.
Perry's decision to come to Egypt comes after she posed as Cleopatra, the ancient Egyptian queen in the music video for her single, Dark Horse.
The video was later edited after criticism surfaced stating that it was offensive to Muslims.
She is currently touring to promote her fourth studio album, Prism. The tour started on 14 May and will continue through next year.
