Al-Ahram's sports magazine Al-Reyady held a ceremony on Sunday to honour the Egyptian national team that helped the Pharaohs reach the World Cup 25 years ago.
On 17 November 1989, an early goal from Hossam Hassan lifted the Pharaohs over Algeria to send Egypt to the World Cup the following year, their first appearance in the tournament since 1934.
Several Egyptian players were present at Sunday's ceremony, including Ahmed Shobeir, Ahmed El-Kass, Magdi Abdel-Ghany, Hani Ramzi and Ashraf Qassem, as was Sports Minister Khaled Abdel-Aziz.
Egypt hasn't made it to a World Cup since their 1990 appearance.
