A sound bomb detonated in Zeitoun Monday afternoon, no casualties or losses reported

A sound bomb was found and detonated in the Cairo district of Zeitoun on Monday, reported Al-Ahram's Arabic news website.

The sound bomb detonated at the Social Insurance office that follows the ministry of social solidarity in Ibn Sender Square, in Zeitoun, East Cairo.

According to General Mamdouh Abdel-Kader, head of the city's civil protection sector, the sound bomb did not cause any casualties.

He added that security forces combed the area but found no other bombs.

An eyewitness who lives in the Social Insurance building told Al-Ahram that office security found a black bag outside it after working hours.

The eyewitness, who asked to remain anonymous, added that security forces opened the bag, found a bomb and took it outside, where it detonated.

Egypt has seen a wave of bombings and shootings since the ouster of president Mohamed Morsi in July 2013.
