Zamalek defender Mohamed Koffi
Zamalek defender Mohamed Koffi has been banned for three matches by the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) for attacking Masry striker Ahmed Raouf during a league game on Saturday.
According to a statement published on the EFA's website, the competitions committee found him guilty of hitting an opponent and handed him the ban.
The Burkina Faso defender received his marching orders with 15 minutes remaining, but the Whites managed to protect their 1-0 lead until the end of the 90 minutes.
It will be a great loss for coach Jaime Pacheco as the 27-year international player has been the key element in Zamalek's defence over the past nine games, helping them become the strongest defence in the league with only three goals conceded.
The versatile defender will be sorely missed against Ismaily, Maqassa and Assiouti Sport.
