The DR Congo giants overturned their 1-0 first-leg away deficit to beat Wydad Casablanca 2-0 in Lubumbashi and reach the last eight of the African elites’ competition.

Patou Kabangu and Cheibane Traore scored the second half goals to beat their visitors who were left protesting against the referee’s decisions, claiming he favoured the hosts.

TP Mazembe – who finished runners-up of the FIFA Club World Cup 2010 – are on course for a record third straight CAF Champions League title.
