Think: Film award winner Provenance by Amie Siegel is set to screen in Cairo's arthouse cinema Zawya on Friday 5 December following a screening on 1 December in Berlin.
Sponsored by the Allianz Cultural Foundation, the Think: Film award was presented at the Berlin International Film Festival as an award to honour a work that uses film to reflect on using geopolitical positioning to bring about a change in perspective.
Provenance (2013) follows the global trade of furniture built for the modernist city Chandigarh, designed by Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret. The film chronicles the furniture's journey – in reversed order – from its restoration to its sale at auction.
Director Amie Siegel will be present for a Q&A session following the film's screening.
