Masry left winger Ahmed Shedid
Newly-appointed coach Taha Basri enjoyed a dream debut with Masry as he led them to a precious 2-0 home win against Wadi Degla in day 20 of the Egyptian Premier League.
Ahmed Sherweeda scored an early opener when he met a fine cross from Ehab El-Masry, heading the ball into the empty net after only four minutes.
Left-winger Ahmed Shedid doubled the lead in the dying minutes of the first half when he fired a deflected ball to make it 2-0 at the break.
The visitors tried to react in the second half but couldn’t create any real threat for Masry’s goalie Amir Abdel-Hamid.
The win - their first in six games – helped the Port Said-based club climb up the league table to the 8th place with 26 points, while Degla are still in the mire of relegation, trailing in the 13th place with just 19 points.
