Ahly midfielder Ahmed Shokry is still keen for another crack at Europe after German side Hoffenheim lost interest in signing him.

“Shokry has all the options available now as Hoffenhiem didn’t contact Ahly to negotiate his transfer,” said the talented midfielder's agent, Samir Abdel-Tawab.

The Cairo giants had received an official offer of one million euros from the Budesliga side for the Egyptian youth team star. However, after the 21-year old spent a spell on trial at Hoffenheim they decided not to pursue their initial interest.

Hoffenheim, who have made a remarkable rise to the top flight after being in the fifth division as recently as 2008, had earlier made a verbal offer to take the player on trial, but the Red Devils refused to let him go without an official bid.

Shokry has been out of action since the appointment of Portuguese coach Manuel Jose Da Silva last January, which may pave the way for him playing in the same league as his fellow countryman, Borussia Dortmund’s hitman Mohamed Zidan.

Shokry is officially committed to the Egyptian league title holders until next January.
