Boko Haram attacks military base in Cameroon: police

Fighters from the Nigerian Islamist group Boko Haram launched an attack Monday on a military base in the northwest Cameroonian city of Kolofata, police said.

"As soon as people heard the first gunfire they fled the city," a police source told AFP, adding: "The gunfire was very heavy."
