Egyptian wing-back Ahmed Elmohamady couldn't help Sunderland avoid a 3-1 loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Saturday.

Elmohamady, who played as a right-back in Sunderland’s 4-4-2 formation, was caught napping as Jody Craddock opened the scoring in the 22nd minute when he side-footed home a cross from the left.

A failure to clear a corner allowed Sunderland’s Benin midfielder Stephane Sessegnon to smash home a 34th minute equaliser at the far post.

But Matt Jarvis, a half-time substitute, provided the cross from the right that allowed Steven Fletcher to head Wolves in at the far post.

George Elokobi sealed Wolves' victory with a header 12 minutes from time.

Sunderland are now 13th in the league table with 44 points while Wolves moved a point clear of the relegation zone.
