Police sources said that an improvised device targeting a Central Security Forces position exploded on Sunday morning, leaving two officers injured, Al-Ahram Arabic news website reported.
The device detonated near the entrance to Shams Sporting Club, close to the Alf Maskan area of eastern Cairo.
On Friday, four police conscripts and a woman were injured when an improvised explosive device went off in Alf Maskan area.
The device was planted under a private car parked near a location known for its police presence.
Alf Maskan, and the nearby Matariya and Ain Shams districts, are strongholds for the outlawed Muslim Brortherhood.
The area has witnessed almost-weekly protests and clashes between Islamist demonstrators and police or opposing locals since the ouster of Mohamed Morsi in July 2013.
