Award-winning Egyptian filmmaker Sherif Fathy Salem's documentary That Alexandria will screen at the American University in Cairo on Thursday.
Written and directed by Salem, the film recounts the coastal city's golden age during the first half of the twentieth century, through testimonies from its Greek, Italian, Syro-Lebanese, Armenian and Egyptian inhabitants.
The documentary made its world premiere in Alexandria earlier this month at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. The AUC screening is the film's Cairo premiere.
Salem's previous films include The Italians of Egypt (2011), The Traces of the Sicilian Muslims (2009) and Clandestini: Illegal immigrants in Italy (2009).
