The US Secret Service has recovered a "device" from the grounds of the White House, a spokesman said on Monday, adding that it did not appear to pose an "ongoing threat".
"There is a device that has been recovered by the Secret Service at the White House," said spokesman Josh Earnest, who is in New Delhi with the president.
"Early indication is that it does not pose any sort of ongoing threat to anybody right now at the White House."
