Egypt were eliminated from the World Championship round of 16 after losing to Germany 23-16 on Monday.
Following their early strong displays at the World tournament ,the Pharaohs dreamed of reaching the competition's quarters for the first time since 2001. However their dream fell against a strong German team that completely dominated the game.
The Pharaohs started the game on slow rhythm giving their opponent the chance to earn a four-goal lead that held until the end of the first half which ended 12-8.
Germany extended the gap in the second half thanks to a heroic performance from team's goalkeeper CarstenLichtlein who was named man of the match as well as a strong performance from Winger Patrick Groetzki.
Despite their elimination from the competition, the Pharaohs produced a promising performance that brings them closer to regaining their position as a World heavyweights.
