Gunfire heard as security forces surround Tripoli hotel: AFP

Security forces surrounded a hotel in Libya's capital Tripoli that was reportedly attacked by Islamist gunmen on Tuesday and gunfire was heard, an AFP photographer reported.

According to security sources at the scene, four armed men had detonated a car bomb in front of the Corinthia Hotel, which is popular with foreigners, killing a guard, before rushing into the hotel.
