اللى معاه ربنا يمشى على الميه
Elli maah rabbena yemshi ala almayya
Translation: He who has God on his side can walk on water.
Meaning: If you have God on your side, you have nothing to fear, nothing is too difficult for you and the sky’s the limit. It denotes piety. But it also denotes jealousy. The saying is outdated now, but when it was in fashion, it might have indicated that somebody else’s good fortune is an act of God, not a result of hard work or a well-earned reward.
