Egypt's renowned bassist Ahmed Nazmi will take to the stage with Rami Attalla, Letty El Naggar and Muhammad Raafat for a full set on Sunday 8 February at El-Sawy Culturewheel Wisdom Hall.
Nazmi is known to fuse jazz and oriental tunes to produce bass-heavy musical arrangements. The quartet includes bass guitar, drums, piano and a saxophone.
Throughout his career, Nazmi has collaborated with a number of notable regional musicians including Ziad Rahbani, Yehia Khalil, Fathy Salama, Mohamed Mounir as well as Ghalia Ben Ali. In 2012, he released his first album "Ethbat Hala" (Confirming a State of Mind) .
Sunday's concert will be followed by a performance by Hawidro, an eight-man ensemble whose music find inspiration in African beats.
