Ivorian keeper Boubacar Barry announced his retirement from international football on Tuesday, less than a month after helping the Elephants win the 2015 African Cup of Nations.

Ivory Coast won their first Nations Cup title since 1992 after beating West African neighbours Ghana 9-8 on penalties following a 0-0 draw in a game that saw a heroic performance from the veteran keeper who blocked two penalties before scoring the decider.

"All good things must end. I decided to end my football career with Ivory Coast. I was proud to wear our jersey," Barry said via Facebook.

The 35-year-old lost his place in the starting eleven to Sylvain Gbohouo who was injured just before the final allowing the veteran shot-stopper to put the icing on the cake.

Barry, who has played 86 international games since making his debut in 2000, was part of Ivory Coast's squad for the 2006, 2010 and 2014 World Cups.

He also played in six Africa Cup of Nations, losing two finals against Egypt in 2006 and Zambia in 2012.
