The Palestinian Cinema Week includes documentaries and feature films by prominent Palestinian directors, which have earned regional and international awards, with eight of the films screening in Egypt for the first time.
The event is dedicated to Palestinian actor Ghassan Matar who died in Cairo earlier earlier in the week.
The program opened with an invitation-only event on 2 March, screening Eid Milad Laila (Laila’s Birthday) for director Rashid El-Mashharawy.
Attending the opening was Jamal El-Shobky, ambassador for Palestine in Egypt, as well as Mohamed Abo-Se’da, Chair of the Sector of Cultural Development Fund.
