This year's edition of the Downtown Contemporary Arts Festival (DCAF) will kick off at the Greek Campus with 'A (Micro) History of World Economics, Danced' by writer, director and choreographer Pascal Rambert.

The “ready-made” piece, as Rambert describes it, includes 50 local participants, three actors, and a philosopher/commentator. The performance talks about ownership of our lives, with this sentiment expressed through the personal stories.

In the evening, the Berlin-based DJ Boris Brejcha and Alexandrian shaabi group El-Dakhlaweya will take a stage of the Sherazade Nightclub.

The fourth edition of DCAF will continue until 9 April and will include six segments (performing arts, urban visions, music, visual arts, film and special events), each filled with a variety of artistic elements.

The festival will run in several downtown Cairo venues, such as Falaki Theatre, the Greek Campus, Sherazade, the Townhouse Rawabet Theatre, the Goethe Institut, El-Borsa Street, the old French Consulate, Sednaoui department store and Cinema Odeon, where films will be screened in cooperation with Zawya art house.
