On the 67th anniversary of the Deir Yassin massacre the Arab League has called on the international community to intervene immediately to pressure Israel to stop its crimes against the Palestinian people, according to Al-Ahram Arabic news website.
In a statement released on Monday, the Arab League said that it would never accept "the racist policies and the terrorist means" of Israel.
The massacre took place on 9 April 1948 when Zionist paramilitary forces attacked Deir Yassin village near Jerusalem and killed more than 110 Palestinian residents.
The league has demanded international involvement to establish a two-state solution according to international law.
The grouping has also stressed the importance of activating the peace initiative that was adopted by the Beirut Arab Summit in 2002, which proposed a comprehensive solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict which is based on justice and equality, as well as acknowledging the rights of the Palestinian people.
The initiative also calls for an establishment of an independent Palestinian state that includes East Jerusalem as a capital.
The latest Israeli assault on the Palestinian Gaza Strip took place in summer last year and left more than 2,000 Palestinians dead and more than 12,000 injured.
