باب النجار مخلع

Bab el-nagger mekhalla'

Translation: The door of the carpenter is off its hinges.

Meaning: The person who is helping everyone may not be helping himself. The psychiatrist may have psychological problems, the mechanic may have a car that breaks down regularly, and the economist is perhaps mishandling his personal finances. This can be a backhanded compliment, said in good humour. If you're good at what you're doing, you're probably too busy to take care of yourself.
