As part of Cairo's AFAC Film Week, the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture (AFAC) will host a series of screenings in Tanta and Minya, alongside screenings in Cairo.
Tanta screenings:
AFAC's official press release reveals that in Tanta screenings will begin 16 April 16 with Nadine Khan’s 'Chaos, Disorder,' which tells the story of a love triangle between Manal, Zaki and Mounir who live in an isolated and underprivileged community.
Winner of the Grand Jury Prize for Documentary at the Sundance Film Festival, Talal Derki’s 'Return to Homs' will screen the following day, 17 April.
On 18 April, Amer Shomali and Paul Cowan film's 'The Wanted 18' will screen.
All screenings in Tanta will take place at Cinema Rivoli starting 5pm, in association with the Zawya Tanta initiative, which aims to expand Cinema Zawya's activities outside of Cairo.
The press release continues that the Minya screenings will kick off 17 April with the Egyptian documentary 'Underground/On the surface' by Salma El-Tarzi.
On 18 April, 'Chaos, Disorder' will be screened.
Screenings in Minya will take place at the Jesuit and Frères School at 7pm.
