In a meeting on Thursday, the Central Bank of Egypt's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) kept the lending rate and deposit rate unchanged at 9.75 percent and 8.75 percent respectively.
The discount rate was also kept unchanged at 9.25 percent, a statement on the CBE's website said.
Key interest rates were last changed in January 2015, when the committee cut them 50 basis points each on lower inflation expectations.
But as annual inflation accelerated to a significant 11.8 percent in March, analysts expected the MPC to hold interest rates.
