The less said the better

   قصر الكلام منفعة

Osr el-kalam manfaah

Translation: The less said the better.

Meaning: No one likes a chatterbox, get to the point and we'll all be better off. The utilitarian approach to talking may seem modern, but it is not. Similar sayings are known to almost all cultures and ages. Even when people had longer times to chat, beating about the bush was never a desirable trait.
