Hull City's Egyptian winger Ahmed Elmohamady believes that beating Arsenal next Monday can save the team form relegation this season.

The Tigers were facing a critical situation in the English Premier League before managing to beat Liverpool 1-0 on Tuesday.

They currently lie at 15th place in the league table with 34 points, 43 behind leaders Chelsea.

"We were in an urgent need for that win," Elmohamady, who contributed in the match's only goal, told BT Sports TV channel about beating Liverpool.

Hull City are facing a difficult run in their remaining Premier League matches as they will face Arsenal, Burnley, Tottenham and Manchester United respectively.

According to the Egyptian international, beating the Gunners could be a key element in securing a place for Hull in the elite league next season.

"We need to beat Arsenal to secure our place in the Premier league. We were delivering outstanding performances this season but we weren’t lucky enough," he added.

Elmohamady, 27, is one of the Premier League's most consistent performers this term. He has featured in all of Hull's 34 league matches so far and was substituted only once.

The Egyptian international first appeared in the English Premier League's 2011 season coming from Egypt's outfit ENPPI.

He managed to save a regular place in Hull City's squad this season since joining them on a permanent basis from Sunderland in 2013.

The player scored two league goals for the Tigers this season.
