بيت النتاش ما يعلاش
Beit el nattash ma ye'lash
Translation: The house of the untruthful will not be high.
Meaning: You can fool some of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all the people all of the time. The ethical judgment is brief and the tone is humorous and didactic. This vernacular saying is not common now, but it is likely to have been a favourite of parents and teachers some generations back.
