Egyptian side Smouha will take on Moghreb Tetouan in the African Champions league group stage.

Smouha has surprisingly become the only Egyptian team to reach the CAF Champions League group stage after heavyweights Ahly lost in a penalty shootout on Saturday to Moghreb Tetouan of Morocco.

According to the draw held at the Confederation of African Football (CAF) headquarters in Cairo on Tuesday, Smouha was paired in a group with Congo's TP Mazembe, Sudan's Al-Hilal and Moghreb Tetouan.

Smouha made history on their maiden African Champions League appearance after overcoming Congo's AC Leopards on Saturday to book a place in the competition's group stage.

The Alexandrian club also overcame some illustrious opponents in the preliminary rounds, having defeated Libya's Ahly Tripoli before beating Nigeria's Enyimba, who won the Champions League twice in 2003 and 2004, to set up a meeting with Leopards.

Smouha currently lie 16 in the Egyptian Premier League table with 29 points, 28 behind leaders Zamalek.
