Ahly have announced their transfer plan for the next season, saying that they will not be seeking many new players.
"Ahly only need four or five players for next season, including a foreign player," the club's football director, Wael Gomaa, told an Egyptian radio programme on Sunday.
"The positions needed are in central defence and midfield, in addition to a striker," said Gomaa. He also mentioned the financial crisis that has hit the club in recent years.
The Cairo giants are currently third in the league table with 11 points behind arch-rivals Zamalek who occupy first place.
"We will not surrender and we are still competing to win the Egyptian Premier League this season," he concluded.
