Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella believes that Egypt winger Mohamed Salah helped the Italian side to achieve their target during the game after scoring a brilliant goal during the 3-2 win over Empoli in Italy's Serie A on Sunday.
The Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah, who failed to touch the net for almost a month, cleverly turned two defenders inside out to score his team's second goal, 12 minutes after his introduction in the second half.
"Mohamed Salah scored a great goal, he has these unpredictable tricks," Montella told the press conference post game.
"From January he gave us something more in our finishing and allows us to take the play in different ways, which is what we needed," the Fiorentina coach added.
Salah, who joined Fiorentina on loan from Chelsea in the winter transfer window, has been outstanding with the Italian side, scoring eight goals in 22 appearances in all competitions.
He has quickly become a fan favourite in Florence, with Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella saying he was likely to remain at the club beyond the end of his current loan deal, which expires in the summer.
The 22-year-old Salah believes the win over Empoli in the Italy Serie A was important because it would be a good preparation for the Europa League game against Sevilla in the second leg of the Semi-finals on Thursday. The first leg finished with a 3-0 win for the Spain La Liga side.
Fiorentina lie fifth in the Italian league table with 55 points, 25 behind leaders and champions Juventus.
"Important win today boys, thank god for everything," Salah wrote on his personal Twitter account after the game.
"Let's do it Thursday (in a reference to Sevilla game)," the Egyptian winger added.
