On Friday June 12, Mahatat for Contemporary Arts will launch a new tour of performances in four Egyptian cities: Port Said, Damietta, Mansoura and Cairo. In this tour, Mahatat will collaborate with Outa Hamra troupe (Red Tomato).

Mahatat has previously held three similar tours as a part of their programme Art in Transit, which attempts to support decentralised arts in Egypt and make them accessible to people, through organising art events in public spaces, the troupes press release reads.

For three days, Outa Hamra will perform twice in three different cities, and will end the tour on the fourth day with a performance in Cairo. Since the troupe was founded in 2011, it sought to create a “reaction space for a high quality drama,” with a particular focus on marginalised communities, the press release states.
