Meteorological spokesman Wahid Seoudi told Ahram Online that temperatures in Cairo, Lower Egypt and the North Coast are eight degrees Celsius cooler on Sunday after the weekend heat wave.
The maximum temperature on Sunday reached 31 degrees in Cairo, with a low of 22 degrees.
Seoudi also confirmed the end of dust and sandstorms that accompanied the high temperatures on Saturday.
The media spokesman for the Red Sea Ports Authority, Abdel-Rahim Mostafa, stated that five ports resumed their operations after they were shut down on Saturday in the provinces of Suez and South Sinai due to bad weather conditions, Aswat Masriya reported.
Airports in the coastal cities of Alexandria and Matrouh have also resumed operations on Sunday after they were temporarily shut down due to the sandstorm that caused poor visibility.
Egypt suffered exceptional heat on Saturday, accompanied with a sandstorm, when temperatures reached 40 Celsius.
