After the 2-1 loss to Maqassa in the Egyptian Premier League, Zamalek assistant coach Ismail Youssef has reassured the team's supporters, confirming the players won't give up to win the title this season.
Zamalek were handed a surprise 2-1 defeat at the hands of Maqassa in a match that witnessed a couple of highly debatable spot kicks.
The Whites took the lead through Omar Gaber's penalty in the first half, before Ahmed El-Sheikh equalised for the hosts from a free kick after the break.
Maqassa then scored the winner through ex-Zamalek defender Hani Saied from another penalty to deny Zamalek a vital win en route to their first league title since 2004.
"This loss won't affect our road to the Egyptian Premier League title," Youssef said after the game.
"I want to reassure the team's supporters that the players won't give up on their target of winning the title...We will discuss the reasons for the loss to avoid a repeat in the coming few games," Youssef continued.
Zamalek remain on top of the league table with 77 points, while Ahly leapfrogged ENPPI to second place on 71, but the White Nights have a game in hand.
The White Nights are set to face Ismaily in the postponed game from week 30 on Monday.
"The Ismaily game will be a chance for the players to forget the Maqassa loss and to march on in the Egyptian Premier League title," Ismail Youssef concluded.
