The deputy head of the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics has said that the first day of Eid Al-Fitr is expected to be on 17 July, state-owned news agency MENA reported.
Eid Al-Fitr, which is a religious feast celebrated by Muslims worldwide, marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.
The institute said that the moon is expected to be spotted on the eve of the 29th night of Ramadan, which according to Islamic tradition indicates the end of the fasting month.
The festivities last for three days.
