Zamalek flew to South Africa late on Tuesday without six key players ahead of Saturday's anticipated African Confederation Cup test against Orlando Pirates.
Pirates will be hosting the Cairo giants in the second round of the competition's group stage.
According to Zamalek's official website, Omar Gaber, Hazem Emam, Ahmed Ali, Ahmed Dewidar, Youssef Obama and Mahmoud Abdel-Rehim 'Genish' missed the trip to South Africa due to injury.
"We travelled with a reduced squad as injury has sidelined six of our key players," Zamalek's football director Ismail Youssef said.
"We have full confidence in the other traveling players to cover the absence of their injured teammates and to return with a positive result," he added.
In the Confederation Cup, Africa's secondary club competition, Zamalek is competing in Group B alongside Tunisia's Sfaxien, Congo's AC Leopards and Orlando Pirates.
The Cairo giants made a winning start to their group stage campaign following a late 1-0 home win over Sfaxien on 27 June.
At the domestic level, Zamalek now have 80 points and are on top of the Egyptian league table and just need four points from their upcoming four games to win their 12th domestic league title, the first since 2004.
