Basel midfielder Mohamed Elneny
Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Elneny opened his score sheet with FC Basel on Saturday during the team's 4-0 win over Meyrin in the Swiss Cup round of 64.
Elneny joined Basel's starting lineup for the match, scoring the team's second goal of the match with an unstoppable shot at the 58th minute.
He also created another goal for Basel a minute after scoring.
The 23-year-old, who joined Basel from Arab Contractors in 2013, produced some fine displays with Basel last season, helping them win the Swiss league by scoring two goals with the team during that campaign.
Basel extended Elneny's contract last October. The new deal will run until 30 June 2018.
