Qatari diplomat found possessing hash deported from Cairo airport

Egypt's airport authorities briefly detained and then deported a Qatari diplomat on Tuesday for possession of hashish, Al-Ahram Arabic news website reported.

The diplomat, who works in Athens and was attempting to visit Egypt, was arrested for possessing nine grams of hashish.

The Doha embassy sent an apology to the Egyptian foreign ministry asking for his release and the diplomat was soon deported.
