Qalioubiya governor Mohamed Abdel-Zaher ordered the formation of a committee to inspect homes and shops near the targeted state security building that were damaged by the car bomb attack that took place early Thursday morning.
The huge car bomb exploded at the state security building in north of Cairo, injuring at least 29 people, including six police officers, the health ministry announced.
The committee will assess the damage and work to renovate all buildings that have been affected by the attack.
Abdel-Zaher stressed that all renovations will be paid for by the governorate.
The historical castle of Egypt’s Ottoman Khedive Mohamed Ali, located in the same neighbourhood, was also damaged.
A committee will also assess damages in the castle and will soon renovate it, according to Al-Ahram Arabic news website.
