Officials sign the agreement at AUC in downtown Cairo
A joint cooperation agreement between Prince Charles' School of Traditional Arts, and Kemet Arts & Design Institute was signed in Cairo on Tuesday.
The agreement, which took place at the American University of Cairo (AUC) Greek Campus in downtown Cairo, aims at reinforcing the field of design and art in Egypt, as well as supporting and upgrading the creative industry field in Egypt.
The agreement states that the education of students in those fields will be carried out by the expertise of British as well as their Egyptian counterparts to provide students with an optimum level of professionalism and skill.
Through these kinds of agreements Kemet targets young Egyptians in the field, and aims at providing them with the necessary interaction with international entities.
The Prince’s School of Traditional Arts is a registered charity in the United Kingdom centred on its postgraduate programmes and reaches out to different sectors of the community in the United Kingdom and internationally. It aims to promote the universal principles in the traditional arts of the great civilisations of the world and promoting their relevance and meaning in today’s world.
The school has extended its educational experience through its Outreach Programme and now has a presence in several countries including Egypt, China, Azerbaijan, Canada, Qatar, Malaysia and Abu Dhabi, among others.
KEMET Art and Design Institute, which is based in Cairo, Egypt, actively supports education, capacity building and cultural awareness.
KEMET aims to be a pioneering institute in Cairo and the region that works on developing the creative industries through offering a well-designed process of upgrading the quality of education, notably creativity, design thinking and practical skills.
