Migrants walk near the Hungarian-Austrian border in Nickelsdorf, Austria, Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015 (AP)
At least 500 migrants stuck in Hungary for days began on Saturday a new march away from Budapest's main train station towards the Austrian border, according to an AFP correspondent on the scene.
On Friday some 1,200 began the 175-kilometre (110-mile) journey from the Keleti station, prompting Hungarian authorities to take several thousand to the border in around 90 buses.
On Saturday there appeared to be no more buses however and official were not commenting why, the AFP correspondent said.
By around 12:30 pm (1030 GMT) on Saturday, around 6,500 migrants had crossed by foot into Austria after being dropped off by the buses, the Austrian interior ministry said, predicting a total of up to 10,000 would arrive.
The Austrian government provided buses and trains to take the migrants to Vienna and Salzburg, where most intended to change onto other trains to take them to Germany.
