After rejoining Ahly during the current summer transfer window, defender Rami Rabia expressed his pleasure at returning to his homegrown club again but has not ruled out playing outside of Egypt.
Ahly have completed the signing of Sporting Lisbon defender Rabia for five years.
His return to his homegrown club ends speculation over the player's future with Lisbon.
The 22-year-old Egyptian international moved to Lisbon from Ahly in the summer of 2014 but failed to establish himself at the Portuguese outfit after a falling out with coach Jorge Jesus.
"I returned to my home Ahly club. I hope to achieve a trophy with the team next season to please fans again," Rabia told a television programme on Saturday.
"I am not happy with returning from Europe but I can't refuse Ahly's offer. They have the upper hand among all offers I received," he added.
"I have a chance to play outside Egypt again after playing in the Olympic Games and Ahly are well aware of my wishes."
Rabia is among five defenders who have been called up by Egypt coach Hector Cuper for the upcoming African Cup qualifier in Chad on Sunday.
"Now we are concentrating on the Chad game as we want to achieve something for our generation," Rabia explained.
"Coach Cuper is confident in the current players’ ability to win trophies," Rabia concluded.
