Egypt wing-back Ahmed Elmohamady could reportedly leave his club Hull City in January amid interest in his services from Premier League clubs Swansea and Leicester City.
"Elmohamady is keen to test himself at a higher level and is ready to leave the KC Stadium after suffering relegation with the Tigers last season," website Sport360 reported on Monday.
The 27-year-old was one of the Premier League's most consistent performers last season. He featured in all of Hull's 38 league matches and was substituted only once.
Hull ended last season in 18th place and were relegated to the second division, which is called the Championship.
The Tigers are currently second in the Championship with 10 points, three behind leaders Brighton.
A source close to the player told Sport360 that the Egyptian international is keen to stay in England and has had offers from a number of clubs, with Swansea and Leicester among them.
"There is still a chance Elmohamady will stay at the KC Stadium, but it is dependent on whether Hull – currently second in the Championship table - are still in contention for an immediate return to the Premier League in January," the website added.
This report comes despite the player's recent confirmation that he will remain at Hull until the end of the season.
“Leicester City and Queens Park Rangers were in serious talks to sign me this summer, but I preferred to stay with Hull,” the player told Egyptian sports site FilGoal.com on Saturday.
“My main target is to return with my team to the Premier League next season. I won't be leaving Hull, at least not this season.”
“Regular football, love of the Hull fans and coach Steve Bruce's confidence in me are all important factors that informed my decision to stay," concluded the man who won the Africa Cup of Nations with Egypt in 2008 and 2010.
Elmohamady first appeared in the English Premier League in 2011, joining Sunderland on loan from Egyptian outfit ENPPI.
He managed to nail down a regular place in Hull City's team in the last two seasons after joining them on a permanent basis from Sunderland in 2013.
