The 20-year-old Portuguese was signed by United from Vitoria Guimaraes for 7 million pounds (then $11 million) last offseason despite manager Alex Ferguson acknowledging he had never seen Bebe play.
Bebe has failed to establish himself at Old Trafford, making just seven first-team appearances in his first season, and the English champions said Thursday they hope the yearlong move to Turkey will aid his development.
Besiktas finished fifth in last season’s Turkish league.
