Iran has given the UN nuclear watchdog what it needs to assess whether Tehran's past activities had anything to do with nuclear weapons, the agency said on Thursday, a further step towards implementing an agreement between Tehran and world powers.
The agreement calls for the lifting of sanctions in exchange for restrictions on Iran's nuclear activities. The International Atomic Energy Agency's assessment must be made by Dec. 15. Thursday is the deadline for Iran to supply the information and materials needed for that assessment.
