The Embassy of the Republic of Poland underscores the long list of events that will bring many cultural and scientific riches from Poland closer to Egyptian audiences.
The Polish presence throughout the whole month will begin with the 37th edition of the Cairo International Film Festival, where numerous Polish films are set to be screened, many of them as part of ‘Polish Panorama’ within the Critics Week.
During the same period, an exhibition showcasing Polish archeological findings from between the years 2000 and 2014 will be launched at Alexandria’s National Museum.
On 18 and 19 November, a seminar series titled ‘Egypt-Poland: Prospects for cultural and linguistic ties’ will include lectures and discussions about inter-lingual relations, translation and linguistic stereotypes. The meetings will be held at the Cairo University Center for Arabic Language and Culture as well as at El Sawy Culturewheel.
Finally, at the end of the month, a Chopin-week will include the screening of Chopiniana (1984), a film about a Polish composer, a piano recital by Marioli Cieniawa-Puchala and days dedicated to the International Chopin Piano Competition Egypt for young artists.
